A million years in the hot rainforests of Hysh agreed nicely with the Skinks' fast metabolism. The Lizardman subspecies saw an evolutionary explosion of different forms. Here's six...
"Death—its desolation and horror- bleak spaces- sea-bottom—dead cities. But Life—the greater horror! Vast unheard-of reptiles and leviathans— hideous beasts of prehistoric jungle—rank slimy vegetation—evil instincts of primal man—Life is more horrible than death." – HP Lovecraft, Commonplace Book

My main goal for the Relic Lizardmen project is to make them real
gribbly. They're not bad guys or mutants, but all the lifeforms of the jungle, creeping and crawling. The Skinks are the most diverse of all the Relic Lizardmen, having adapted to so many niches in the New World. Warhammer Fantasy already had Skinks displaying some signs of speciation via Chameleon Skinks. So another million years is gonna see them thrive. Some look more animal-like, some are almost humanoid.

So I'm mostly abiding by Age of Sigmar's army-building rules thanks to the Warhammer Community's Warscroll Builder app, but I'm working in units of five so far. I've got another five skinks lined up to take this squad up to its full complement.

In my mind Skinks wizards are still Shamans... The Relic Lizardmen have mostly forgotten the Old Ones, whose plans were for the Old World. Perhaps their plan was for some Lizardmen to be saved after The End Times? In which case the plan's complete and the Relic Lizardmen are free to make their own way in the New World.
