Revisiting Space Wolves - Infantry Squads

Intercessor Squad Þorberg

In 2020, I took on a full 40k Space Wolves army as a lockdown project, the first time I'd approached a straightforward out-of-the-box project on this scale. I had something around 1500pts before I moved on to a Soulblight Gravelords army in 2021 and I always intended to revisit the Space Wolves. I'm finally doing that! This post will focus on the infantry squads that have received a fresh round of painting attention. Plenty of new pics below the jump...

Primaris Space Wolves part 12: Firestrike Servo-Turret

The final kit to join my Space Wolves in 2020 is one of the newest Primaris units. I made one modification to it that I think really improves it. Pics and process below the jump.

Primaris Space Wolves part 11: Assault Intercessor Squad Auðr

A third Intercessor squad for my Space Wolves. The previous two were geared for close quarters assault with Assault Bolt Rifles - this squad takes that further with Chainswords. More details and pics below the jump.

Primaris Space Wolves part 9: Battle Leader

A distinguished leader for the Space Wolves. Either a Battle Leader or a Lieutenant, depending on your adherence to Codex standards. Pics and details of the conversion process below the jump.

Primaris Space Wolves part 8: Eliminators

I like the Eliminators kit. The combination of camo cloaks and massive guns is very cool. And my close combat focused Space Wolves need some long range firepower to back them up. More pics below the jump.

Primaris Space Wolves part 7: Impulsor

A little overdue, this monster tank has been up on my Instagram for a while now, but here's a detailed run-down of the Impulsor I built for my Space Wolves force.

Primaris Space Wolves part 6: Rune Priest

Here's the first model in my Space Wolves project to deviate much from the original kit. There's no official Primaris Rune Priest model. There's Primaris Librarians who are kind of equivalent. But I think Rune Priests should be more grisly and weird than their codex-compliant cousins. Pics and lore below the jump.

Primaris Space Wolves part 5: Intercessor Squad Thorberg

A second five-person squad of Intercessors with assault bolters. This brings my fledgling Space Wolves force up to just over 500 points. More pics below the jump.

Primaris Space Wolves part 4: Primaris Ancient

I can never resist a chance to paint a freehand banner. With a few easy-to-build Intercessors to test my Space Wolves colour schemes on, I had a spare Intercessor in circulation. So he got promoted to the army's banner bearer. More pics and lore below the jump.

Primaris Space Wolves part 3: Intercessor Squad Hervaðr

The second unit finished in this first wave of Space Wolves builds. A MSU Intercessor squad with assault bolters and a thunder hammer. More pics below the jump.

Primaris Space Wolves part 2: Redemptor Dreadnought

The first two units of my Primaris Space Wolves army for 40k are complete. There's a lot to get through so they're getting split into two posts. In this one I'm gonna show you the completed Redemptor Dreadnought. More below the jump.
