Denizens of Mordheim – Skaven Master Assassin

Here's something that grew out of the leftover bits from my Cult of the Possessed Warband. The only Skaven parts in this Skaven are the head and feet. I think he makes for a cool solo character, which is great since I don't feel like making up a full Skaven warband! More pics below the jump.

Mordheim Mercenaries – Ostlanders

Being in a good place with Mordheim, I swung for one last warband: Ostlanders. One of the more characterful teams under the umbrella of Human Mercenaries. A cool thing about the Mordheim setting is how it teases out the cultural differences in regions of the Empire (R.I.P. The Old World).

Roster for this as yet nameless gang below the jump:

Mordheim Mercenaries – Wederverkrijgingsgilde Expeditionary Company

The Magpies are complete at long last! A "quick project" to make a Mordheim company in the style of an old Dutch Schutterstuk kept me going for a full four months. Pictures below the jump.

Denizens of Mordheim – The Undead

Many grim and grody things creep the streets of Mordheim. Lady Mazıroğlu's zombie henchmen are a thrifty make-do bits-box dive both IRL and in-setting.

Denizens of Mordheim – Cult of the Possessed

Well, I had enough leftover bits to make one or two new models and then… things escalated… My Mordheim tinkering has borne even more conversions. Here's my Chaos cult. Background, roster, and photographs below the jump.

Mordheim

My next project after the Lamians Slaanesh squad was initially going to be an Age of Sigmar warband. During the Christmas break though, I was struck with an idea for a Mordheim mercenary gang that I could make from my bits box. AoS is taking a back seat until that's done!

The Lamians Slaanesh Chaos Space Marine Warband (Complete)

The Lamians Warband, complete

My Lamians Slaanesh Chaos Space Marines project was inspired by the #INQ28 setting, and its cousin #AoS28. While Space Marines are the kind of OP megaheroes frowned on in that setting, I really did want to explore niche bits of their lore – the weird grim pathos that #INQ28 looks into. So this Slaaneshi warband was built with the aim of delving into a small-scale character project in an original way.

Here's the story of the Lamians warband and their allies, the Slaan Sala Movement:

Lamians Warband: Painting Update

Group shot – The Lamians Warband

It's been a while since I posted last, because I've been knuckling down and just painting all the models at the same time. Instead of posting about 10 models in gradually decreasing states of bareness, I thought I'd hold off until they're (almost) done.

So, here they are!

"Elephant Seal" Rhino Variant

The Slaanesh Space Marine squad needed a big center-piece model. I decided on a transport vehicle, and of course I couldn't resist tinkering with it.

There are two undercurrent styles to the models in this squad: extravagant, and brutally efficient. This Rhino variant is the latter: a boxy battering ram designed to crash into the enemy and disgorge a load of evil Space Marines. I imagine it to be a rare, outdated and not very popular Rhino variant pattern called an Elephant Seal.
