#Kitbashember 15-18 Necron Flayed One
Today's #Kitbashember slot "Psycho/Feral" for Necrons has just got to be a Flayed One! This one is designed to look like he's nestled inside an entire corpse...
"COLD", Sunafl complained.
Its complaints would always increase as its garb deteriorated. Nakhtnebtepnefer had long forgotten the sensation of coldness. It seemed something in Sunafl's core was defective, so that the shambling construct was driven by its constant discomfort. Though Necron metal-flesh would never decay, Nakhtnebtepnefer supposed it would not retain heat well – but it was only a supposition, for coldness never troubled him.
"COLD"
Mortal flesh though held warmth, Nakhtnebtepnefer could see it if he looked into the infrared frequencies. A shame it lasted a scant few years at most. Sunafl had worn out so many over the millennia.
"COLD COLD COLD"
Thankfully, Sunafl was almost done preparing its new shell. Neither Nakhtnebtepnefer nor Sunafl were aware of the ancient professional skill that guided Sunafl's instinctive but careful incisions. Once the soul animating the shambling construct had been an embalmer for Necrontyr nobility, skilled in safely removing and separating organs into canopic jars, and in preserving flesh. Sunafl didn't remember this, and Nakhtnebtepnefer didn't know this.
"COLD"
The flesh came away in one piece, mostly. The construct's scuffling crawl into the hide reminded Nakhtnebtepnefer of a sacred dermestid beetle, a creature that no longer lived (as flesh and blood, at least) in Necrontyr space. Once Sunafl was firmly nestled into the corpse, its redundant right arm tucked under the skin, it stopped saying "COLD", but said nothing else, for now.
